Making Yardsale Hunt More Accurate

After going to about 300 garage sales in the past 3-4 years I have some suggestions that would make Yardsale Hunt more accurate.

First, you should add more junk items at each sale. Every sale I've been to has one or all of the following:

  • Heavily used child's car seat – something that looks like it would explode if you actually tried to sit a child in it
  • Plastic santa, head optional
  • Portable TVs – this is really a 2009 thing now that all the portable TVs with only an antenna are useless
  • Boxes filled with Beanie Babies (the last episode reminded me of this)
  • Neon beer signs from an aborted attempt to put a bar in the basement

Another idea – how about when you search an NES you can randomly find a cartridge still in the system (maybe you talked about this on the show already?)

Oh, and \"yes\" the first idea was meant as a joke ** you don't have permission to see this link **

Actually if it were more accurate most sales would have no game related items at all. I know this from experience.

Accuracy would also increase if you added random piles of clothes in most every yard with the occasional rambuncious, filthy kid running around.

what stops the game from having a lot more items is my inability to be able to draw. All the objects in the game came from a copyright-free sprite image. I just cannot draw. I can make the game do what I want but if it were left to me it'd end up looking like shit.

That being said if anyone (with talent please :) ) would like to contribute some more graphics send me a pm.

In the next version you will be able to find games in the systems.

I'm in the same boat there – I can program but can't draw for *%$&. Yeah, there are tons of free images and tiles if you want to make an RPG but I suppose \"yard sale simulator\" isn't something that people have been cranking out art for.
