- I had a rat tail up until the age of 9.
- My boxers still show
2 out of 10, although with the pokemon comment I think this list is meant for kids who were in elementary/middle/junior high school in the mid 90's. I already dropped out of highschool by the mid 90's. So theres that.

0/10 actually for me.
I've had a pony tail, because I have long hair, but never the rat tail

In my defense the rat tail was super popular in the 80's and my mom adored it. As all young children do, I wanted to make my mom happy and if it meant growing a rat tail then so be it. I can still remember the day I cut my rat tail off and my parents kept asking me if I was sure. Believe me I was sure. By the time I hit the age of 9 I could care less if my parents approved of what I did. I was ready to rebel and the rat tail was the first step.
Also my generation started the baggy pants, so I should get an OG pass on it.

Agreed. The baggy to tightfit was an odd phenomenon that solidified sometime in 2004 when 1984 came back full force.
Pokemon? FU. That game kept me from thinking about Court for so long, it should be called the greatest diary ever. I have a record of nicknamed pokemon that give time and day diary of how i was feeling or what was happening that day.
And white guys wearing FUBU? THAT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Skate Poser, yeah, I see that a mile away but… wht the devil?
It is sad that us true 80s kids are being eclipsed by time traveling 90s kids… Kids who are as old as a gameboy. (1989 what what)
Think about it. The times, they are a changin'.
PS- My claim to fame is that I took a ballet class with the guy who did the video internet sensation what-what in the butt. He went to UNCG with me in the year 2000. Holy crap. My ten year high school reunion is a depressing figure.

Thanks for getting that song stuck in my head, I owe you one ** you don't have permission to see this link **
And I'll back Jeromy up on his rat tail. When I was in junior high (87-89) darn near every male had one. By high school they were all gone though. Once in a while I see a dude sporting one and wonder what he's thinking. An even worse hairstyle of the era was the spiked hair on top with perm in the back, I'd link to a picture but I don't want to search for it.

Yeah sometime around '92 to '94 all the guys at my school started sporting pony tails. I started too, but have kept it ever since. I always thought rat tails and earings made a kid look like a punk-wannabe, but people had worse things to say about the pony-tail. I guess all the kids at my school who had rat tails also happened to act like 'The Skater Poser' too so I got a bad impression of rat tails.
Now that I live in a city with a lot of college students I see too many of the 'Frosted tips/ bleached hair'
Spiked hair on top but permed in the back? Aargh! I had forgotten that human beings ever did that to their hair! Aaaaaaaarrrrrgh! My mind has been soiled by Douchebaggery!

Being a child of the '80s I tend to think that there was enough good cartoons, music, movies & games to cancel out the bad hair, clothes and music. ** you don't have permission to see this link ** For everyone on this forum who is 19 or younger, don't worry. Someday the decade that you grew up in will look this silly too.

One day we will look back at these awful \"Crocs\" shoes that are popular in the 00s and laugh. I'm laughing now but it seems like no one else has realized how ugly they are.
