Last night I was watching TV with my wife (something we rarely do since we're both workaholics) and spotted a commercial for a cop show with Mark Harmon. It's probably been on for a decade but this is the first I've seen of it. Anyway I asked her if she remembered the move Summer School and she'd never seen it. I decided that I'm going to force her to watch it this weekend since it's an 80s classic. I mean really, is there a more stereotypical 80s film than that?

Did they ever cover this on the Movies Retrocast? I'd be real tempted to do a one-time episode on it if anyone else wanted to watch it again.

I watch this movie at least once a year when it appears on cable and it's definitely an 80's movie. I don't think I've ever seen it with out it \"Being edited for content and to fit your screen\" though, so I don't know if it has tities. As we all know: to be a true 80's movie you need tities.

\"we're trapped…..like rats….pfft, pfft, pfft, pfft\"

I loved this movie.  Too bad I didn't become a teacher so I could have 2 months off a year.  Course, around this time of year, I'd be pissed at being a teacher.

I watched the uncut version a few times but now I can't recall… I wanna say it doesn't but I guess I'll find out when I watch again.

Alright, I finally forced my wife to watch it last night. Here are my unsorted thoughts:

-I totally forgot about the hot foreign exchange student storyline that American Pie ripped-off (unless Summer School also ripped it off from an earlier movie).

-Who lets a pregnant girl drive a go-cart?

-The scene where the students fake a classroom massacre – no way could you get away with that today.

-When I first saw it I was oblivious to who soundtrack composers were, this time I spotted Danny Elfman's name in the opening credits, that only cemented this movie in greatness.

-What the hell happened to Kirstie Alley?

-Sorry Jeromy, no boobies.
