Thanks a lot, Mike.
I tried hunting through a lot of archives; there's been a lot of stuff since I last remember listening… enough to make me second guess how long it's actually been since then, running on American time zones, but living in rural Scotland…
Listening to the RetroCast, and being active in the surrounding forums were a pretty big part of what I remember of my time online back then, it inspired me to start running the significantly less successful or popular VersusCOM podcast, which was a really great scene to get into at the time.
It's a testament to the early stage of mainstream podcasting you guys jumped in on, and in the merits of the work you did in the field that I remember distinctly RetroNintendo featuring in the Top 20, if not top 10 of Gaming related podcasts on the iTunes directory ( My gut tells me it reached #5, but i could be overestimating..)
But yeah, thanks a lot. Like with anything, it's always nice to hear about other people experiencing things in a similar way to you. Provides the basis for the popularity of most modern chart hits, even if the topics aren't necessarily reminiscent of my own experiences :P
And for that, and for coming from a country without half as many Yard Sales, or Amazing Gaming Deals at \"Target\", where only one game retailer stocked used games pre-Playstation, The RetroCast was pretty great for me.
And the forums as well. \"Guess The Game From A Random Screenshot\" threads that I'd actually care about and want to win…
It sounds very rose-tinted when you read it like that, but I really don't have a bad thing to say about the whole experience.
