we all know this revolutionary controller, but is it really that good? Or does it suck? What do you think, I think it has some good design ideas, but more flaws, Nintendo should have stuck with simple style like the Snes or Nes controller, Or..Well anything not trident shaped.

I actually like the N64 controller.  I admit that it's weird, but it still has this subtle charm for me. However, it was probably only necessary for a few games. Take 007 Goldeneye for instance. I really don't think you could have gotten the same level of control with a SNES controller playing that game.

I have one of those N64 USB adaptors and it's great. The N64 controller is perfect for playing emulators on the PC and the analog stick even works well for FPS or 3D PC games. I will agree though that the SNES controller is better for 2D games, but the N64 controller has enough range to support just about any style of game.

I really like the N64 controller. I remember trying to get used to the analog stick was a pain. It took a while before I could play a racing game without the d-pad.

I loved that controller… only truly bad thing was the d-pad was inaccessible when using the analog Stick (or vice versa). I loved how well it fit into my hand, how hard ti was to drop the controller, and the C Buttons were well utilized on a lot of games.

I think the controller is great overall, especially when considering that it was designed for both 2-D and 3-D games, as was mentioned before. The main complaints I have with it are that it's impossible to reach the L button while using the analog stick without removing your right hand from the controller, and that the analog stick digs into your thumb – it would be much more comfortable to play with if Nintendo had put some soft grip around it like Sony does with the Playstation controllers.

At the time the N64 controller was probably the most advanced game pad that was available. I think the problem was it had a learning curve and was nothing like we had grown used to. I have grown to like it and think nothing of it today. At first I found it awkward. At this point, I would say that I like it. ** you don't have permission to see this link **
