Super iam8bit debuts Los Angeles gallery space, begins monthlong art show

iam8bit founder Jon Gibson says the opening of the new Super iam8bit art show in Los Angeles Echo Park neighborhood this week is really about a “rebirth.” Iam8bit is not only premiering over 100 new pieces by artists inspired by old-school video games, but its also showing off a brand new gallery space, and reinventing itself as a company.

We’ve come to know and love Samus Aran over the last two and a half decades, but this weekend marks the most important milestone of Metroid’s legacy. Today officially marks the 25th anniversary of Metroid, getting its start in 8-bit form on the NES way back in 1986.

Another quick update. The NES game list is now up in limited form and can be browsed. Most of the info from the old game list is up for viewing. I am currently working on implementing a collections system with hopes of making an android app in the future for checking your collection on the move. I look forward to chatting with all of you guys again!

I just wanted to give a little update as to where the site is. I have started to import the game lists and have updated the site software to theÂ latestÂ version. I still have to get all of the images added to the games list as well as the faqs that we are able to host. Â The theme of the site will also be modified to look a little more modern and all episodes for the Retrocast will be up for download.Â Â If you notice anything that’s not quite right please bare with us as the site gets some much needed love.
