The Wii has surpassed the SNES and is primed to become Nintendo’s top selling console.

Against the better judgment of many analysts, the Nintendo Wii has become a giant seller. In March 2009, the company celebrated the popular system’s fifty-millionth sale, making it the fastest-selling console in history. Konami Announces Contra Rebirth for WiiWare

Recently, Konami announced via their official Japanese website that a brand new entry in the Contra series will be released for WiiWare under the title Contra: Rebirth…Contra: Rebirth will feature updated 2D visuals, and retain the classic co-operative gameplay that made the original famous.

The adapter itself resembles that of a Nintendo 64 console and has three female ports for each system. It connects to your Wii via an open GameCube port. What’s even better, the Retro Adapter will work with both first- and third-party accessories, so that no-name Nintendo 64 controller you have laying around may just do the trick. In case you’re wondering, yes, you’ll be able to use an analog control on the N64 controller as well.

Nintendo has announced a new Super Mario game named New Super Mario Brothers for Wii at their E3 2009 press conference. The new game is a multiplayer game and allows 4 players to play at once.
